In 1985 outside the Post Office of Hanzhong 汉中 in Shaanxi there were three tables. At each table sat a literate person. For a fee they would read your mail to you and for a fee they would write letters for you.
It is good to see they expand their business into memoirs. Do they still sit at tables outside the Post Office?
What a Chinese thing to do!
